The small bowel is found in-between the stomach and large bowel. Its job is to make sure that the good bits in your food such as vitamins are absorbed through its walls into your body like a sponge. There are different types of cells in the small bowel, all with different jobs. Four of these cells, adenocarcinoma (cells in the small bowel's lining), sarcoma (cells in the muscles), carcinoid (cells that make hormones) and lymphoma (cells in the immune system), have been known to be the types of cells that keep on dividing to create bowel cancer.
