Hodgkin's disease is named after Thomas Hodgkin, the doctor who first recognised this type of cancer. The type of cell that a Hodgkin's disease tumour comes from, are called Reed Sternberg cells. The lymphatic system, in which lymph glands are found (where Reed Sternberg cells are from), runs all over the body. You can therefore get a Reed Sternberg cells tumour (Hodgkin's disease) just about anywhere.
